Launched in April 2002, C-TPAT is a joint government-business initiative designed to ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect the flow of global trade. Through C-TPAT, U.S. Customs has joined with the owners of the supply chain -- importers, carriers, brokers, warehousemen and manufacturers -- to provide the highest level of security throughout the supply chain while facilitating the movement of goods entering the United States. The C-TPAT program focuses on ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of information provided to Customs during the cargo entry and clearing process.
The C-TPAT certification highlights EFL's commitment towards enforcing stringent security measures in helping the U.S. Customs Service to maintain the security of U.S. borders and curb potential terrorist activities.
EFL is committed to continuous efforts of securing its operations against possible compromise, and of maintaining a high level of compliance in Customs-related areas. As a benefit for participating, Customs has committed to providing "fast-lane" processing of your transactions.
EFL continues to be at the forefront of technology and, guarantees fast and reliable services aimed at exceeding customers' expectations.
To qualify for membership in C-TPAT, companies must conduct a detailed self-assessment of supply chain security using the C-TPAT security guidelines created by Customs and the trade community. Companies must also submit a supply chain security profile questionnaire to Customs, and implement a program to enhance security throughout the supply chain in accordance with the C-TPAT guidelines.
